In 1984 the stylish Milanese youth culture known as ‘The Paninari’ adopted the RWR jacket as part of their uniform; this caught on elsewhere and all of a sudden a brand that was known for making performance sailing wear found itself established in the world of fashion.

The new Milano RWR is based on the original jacket worn by sailing legend Sir Francis Chichester, but sees it updated with a slimmer fit to both the body and arms. It’s a shorter jacket than the RWR Consort (the jacket released as part of a collaboration with OiPolloi last year) which makes it more versatile day-to-day but it’s certainly no less functional.
